Okay, all, warning here that this dessert is a very rich one. It can serve many if you cut it in small squares, but its very rich and no, I don't know the 'nutritional value' of this one.

Name: French Apple Tart
Submitted by JOPAM
Prep Time:
20 mins
Cooking Time:
45 mins
Ingredients:
1 sheet store bought puff pastry dough, thawed
6 golden delicious apples, peeled, cored, halved, and sliced 1/8 inch thick
1/4 cup of sugar
2 ounces (1/2 sticks) cold butter, sliced thin
1/2 cups of apricot jam, heated and strained
Vanilla ice cream (optional)
Whipped Cream (optional)
Preheat oven to 375oF
On lightly floured surface roll out dough into a 13-inch round and it into a 10-inch tart tin
See Note below
with a removable fluted rim, trimming the excess.
Arrange the apples decoratively on the pastry shell, overlapping them
Sprinkle the sugar on top of the apple slices
Bake in the middle of the oven for 45 mins, or until crust is cooked through and the apples are golden
Brush with the heated apricot jam while the tart is still hot. Server each portion with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream .
Baker's Note:
If there isn't a tart pan around, a 10-inch pie shell can work. The puff pastry makes it a puffier, and lighter crust.

Name: Reuben Quesadialls: A Mexican Spin upon Northern Food
Submitted by JOPAM
Prep Time:
20 Minutes
Cooking Time:
10 Minutes
Ingredients:
1 medium onion, cut in half, then sliced
1 tablespoon vegetable oil plus extra for coating tortillas
1/2 pound (1 cup ) sauerkraut, drained well
6 flour tortillas
6 ounces Swiss cheese shredded
Instead of using the fine Swiss cheese, that you normally use on a Reuben, Id suggest a
Sharper
swiss cheese. Though, if it suits you to use the fine swiss, then go ahead!
Corned Beef
Russian Dressing/Mustard (optional)
Preheat oven to 375oF
In a sauté pan, sauté the onions in 1 tablespoon of oil until lightly tanned.
Add in sauerkraut (watch out for splashing), and cook for 8 minutes more until dried.
Using a plate as a template, cut tortillas to even rounds with paring knife. (If your tortillas are round, skip this part..)
Lightly coat bottoms of 3 tortillas with vegetable oil and lay out on cutting board.
Spread with 1/2 of the cheese, coat with single layer of corned beef, then sauerkraut.
Cover with another single layer of corned beef, then with remaining cheese and tortillas.
Press down to compact.
Lightly coat tops with vegetable oil.
Bake for 10 minutes (or until lightly browned), on the outside and melted on the inside.
Cut each quesadilla into 8 wedges.
Quesadillas can be served with Russian Dressing, or if you feel that it is missing something, you can always use some mustard, to put on the top of tortilla, if desired.

Name: Hamburger Varients
Submitted by: Talin
Everyone knows how to make a hamburger on the grill...
Grab the ground beef, divide in to portions, flatten, grill...
BORING!
Mexican Burgers:
Love tacos? Love Hamburgers? Add some taco seasoning to your hamburgers before you divide them into portions, and grill them that way! You choice of hot or mild. Serve with salsa and Jack cheese.
Blue Cheese Burgers:
Grab a package of Blue Cheese and mix it into the Ground Beef before you grill. The cheese will melt right in to the burgers, and the little kick it gives will go over great
Ranch Burgers:
Grab yourselves a part of the farm, we're going to the Ranch. (bad joke.. I know.) Get a bottle of Ranch dressing, and pour in some before you divide those burgers. It'll make it a little bit messier to portion out.. But ohhh... It tastes so good.
